Q. Name/Location (this will go on IG and Website.
Seren Thomas – Merseyside, UK
Q. What initially inspired you to become a Photographer?
I’ve always been a huge fan of photography, I got my first camera at 8, and I still use it out and about when I get the chance, and I took a leap and decided to ask some local bands/companies to take photos for them which made such a difference for me and urged me to take on photography more seriously.

Q. What type of photography do you specialize in, and which style is your personal favorite?
Right now I dont specialise in anything in particular, I’m still learning and figuring things out, I’m currently shooting events, bars and concerts but concert photography is definitely the direction I want to head in!! As for style I’m still trying to try new styles but I’m always a huge fan of close up photographs especially at concerts
Q. Are there any specific photographers or artists who have influenced your approach to photography?
I love Tom Pallant’s concert photography, he does a lot of photos from within the crowd and focusing on the crowds at concerts which I love and definitely want to do more in my own photos

Q. Do you have a favorite artist that you love to shoot?
I think NOAHFINNCE may have been my favourite artist I took photos of, I’ve always been such a huge fan and it made my concert 10 times better that the photos looked so cool! Not to mention his concerts are always so incredible.
Q. How do you prepare for a live music shoot, and what gear do you typically bring with you?
I always love to play the songs of the artist I’m going to take photos of, I think it helps me get into the right mindset before the concert. I also quadruple check all my batteries are checked and cards are cleared because that’s the last thing I want to forget. I’m still quite new to concert photography so the gear I use probably isnt the greatest but it works for me right now. I use the Sony rx100 vii compact camera but am definitely going to need upgrades further along the line
Q. What’s the most memorable or emotional moment you’ve captured during a show?
I can’t think of any from the top of my head and I think it’s because all the shows I’ve photographed have been so memorable for me for quite many different reasons!
Q. Do you have a spotify playlist or artist you would like to share?
I listen to so many different artists but I have two stuck in my head right now, Aziya and Lucia and The Best Boys. Both have INCREDIBLE voices and their music is insanely good
Q. What advice would you give to someone who wants to break into concert photography?
I don’t have much advice but I would definitely recommend putting yourself out there, I feel like it’s the most common thing said, especially in concert photography but contact local bands and venues and ask to photograph them, it definitely helps get your name out and in addition to helping build your portfolio it lets you get a load of practice in!!
