Satara Talks Influences, Social Media, and Their Upcoming Album

Satara, a fast-paced and energetic metal band, is made up of NightHawk (vocals), Xavier (bass), and the Aguilar brothers, Gabe (guitar) and Jonathan (drums). Drawing inspiration from 60’s/70’s rock legends and heavy hitters like Alice in Chains and Pantera, their music blends classic influences with modern metal. With a new album on the horizon and an eye on social media to connect with fans, Satara is gearing up to share their high-energy live performances and build a following in the next five years.

Q. What is your name/name of band/band members’ names?

A. We are Satara! Our band consists of lead singer NightHawk, bassist Xavier, and the Aguilar brothers, Gabe on guitar and Jonathan on drums

Q. What made you want to become a musician?

A. Most of us are inspired by 60’s/70’s music, like the Beatles and Zeppelin. We all developed our own music tastes alone but we all love bands like Alice in Chains and Pantera.

Q. Can you tell us a bit about the origin of your music/band?

A. Our band started two years ago with a drastically different lineup but I’d say it didn’t start till we got Nighthawk in the band, he completely changed the way we wrote songs. The name Satara has its own story.

Q. How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?

A. We describe ourselves as a fast, energetic and fun metal band!

Q. Do you have any upcoming shows or tours planned that fans should look out for?

A. We have a few shows coming soon but be on the lookout for the album were finishing up

Q. What is your take on social media and how it influences an artist’s career?

A. Lately the main way of getting anywhere as a band is through social media and not only creating music but creating content that interacts with your followers/fans.

Q. What are some of your favorite venues to perform at and why?

A. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of region rage and starlight skatepark because they added to the vibe of our music however our favourite is probably Joybomb social center. It had an amazing crowd and the space was perfect for us.

Q, If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A. We all definitely have different answers to this question. Gabe said the white album by The Beatles, Jonathan says he would pick Far Beyond Driven by Pantera, Xavier would either pick Korn (1994), and lastly Nighthawk said he would choose Dirt by Alice in Chains.

Q. What do you think is the most rewarding part of being an artist?

A. Being able to entertain and give genuine enjoyment to people, and leaving others with an awesome and fun experience.

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

A. If we could collaborate with anyone, dead or alive we would definitely choose the original Pantera lineup because that would be such an insane experience and so much fun.

 Q. If your music could be the soundtrack to any movie or TV show, which one would you choose?

A. We would totally love to be featured on the soundtrack of anything spongebob related.

 Q. What’s the most challenging part of being a musician that most people don’t realize?

A. We’d say that gaining a following is very challenging and it’s hard maintaining a good fanbase.

Q. Where do you see yourself/band and your music in the next five years?

A. In 5 years we see ourselves touring with our friends and having fun.
